Curry Can be Healthy

It is often said that part of a poor diet is eating in Chinese and Indian restaurants because of some of the ingredients used. It does not have to be like that. If you cook at home (it doesn't take long) you can substitute olive oil for ghee and use less salt & sugar. Here is a recipe for a tried and tested lamb madras. It can be made less strong for those who like mild curries.

The rising tide of comment and reporting on the high cost and shortages of food mean that it is only a matter of time before the government is putting more emphasis on people using their gardens to grow food. Not only is it more healthy but rising prices make it worthwhile.

BBC Radio Lincolnshire

Today the BBC at Radio Lincolnshire (94.9 & 104.7 FM) invited BabyBoomersUK to appear on the Dave Bussey morning show along with Judy Theobald. This is the second time of appearance and we had a most enjoyable session on life in the 1960s.

Hope for Arthritis Sufferers

It was announced in June that some new medications for arthritis sufferers might be made available soon subject to their approval by the National Institute for Health and Excellence (NICE). Now call me a right wing old cynic but doesn't that acronym just fit the image and personality of Labour governments. It is meant to give the impression of quality but is really about quantity (of money that is). Still in August, NICE approved the drug MabThera (rituximab) What they said was;
