February is when we usually really start to feel that Winter might never end. But, take a look at the trees and bulb sites and you might notice that things are starting to renew.

With food now scarce, birds and small animals are getting more desperate and start to eat tree bark or buds. Now is when they should be protected.

You don't want to go out into the garden do you? Yet a little effort on the milder days will help great deal to keep your garden looking good. Do a bit more spiking of the lawn to help drainage and deter moss. Prepare some planting areas and do some more tidying if it needs it.

Start looking forward to Spring, it's not far off.
