Use a sheltered sunny spot to sow your hardy annuals once the soil has dried sufficiently.
Carrots can be sown now. If you mix the seed with a little sand, you can cur down the sowing of too many in one place. Organic gardeners can give a light soot dressing once the shoots have appeared.
Sprout seed potatoes before planting to make them likely to produce a greater yield. Sprinkle a fertiliser along the row when planted.
Lift snowdrops and divide the tubers once the flowers have faded. Replant sraight away, there is no need for the foliage to die away first.
If you have not already done it, service the lawn mower.
Sow onions, parsnips and broad beans.
