The Pill is made available on the NHS - Dec 1961

Enoch Powell told the house of commons that the birth control pill will be available for doctors to prescribe to thier patients. At the time the concerns were that it would be a drain on the NHS' funds and that it would cause problems because of the synthetic hormones changing the balance within the body. It was a huge step towards the free love of the comming decade.
